The afternoon at Herb Hub 365 brought a noticeable shift in our growing conditions. As the sun climbed higher, the greenhouse warmed steadily, rising from a comfortable 20.1°C in the morning to a peak of 25.0°C by late afternoon. The basil and oregano plants tracked closely with this rise, reaching their highest point of around 22.5°C as the light levels peaked.

It was a bright day inside the glass, with light intensity climbing from a low of 35 lux in the early hours to a maximum of over 1,100 lux near midday. However, the air remained quite dry throughout the cycle, with humidity hovering between 32% and 37%. The chilli plants experienced the driest conditions, with humidity dipping as low as 32.2% in the late afternoon, while the oregano managed to maintain a slightly more stable, though still arid, environment.

Soil moisture levels reflected the dry air, showing a steady decline as the day progressed. The basil started the day at 46.8% moisture and settled down to 43.8% by evening. The oregano remained the most hydrated of the bunch, starting at 50.6% and finishing the day at 48.5%, whereas the chilli plants had the lowest reserves, ending the day at just 34.9%.

We also noticed a gentle rise in atmospheric pressure, moving from 995 hPa in the morning to 998 hPa by the end of the monitoring period. The water reservoir temperature stayed cool and consistent, hovering around 18.8°C to 19.2°C, ensuring our irrigation system remains efficient. It is a good reminder to check those soil moisture sensors soon, especially for the chilli patch, as the dry spell continues to drain the reserves.
