A greenhouse for plants and ideas
Herb Hub 365 is a personal learning and development project built around a small, sensor-equipped herb garden. It brings together horticulture, software engineering, cloud infrastructure, observability, automation, and AI in one practical environment.
The goal is not to present a finished commercial product. This site is a living record of experiments: what worked, what failed, what changed, and what I learned while building it. The greenhouse gives every technical decision a real purpose—from collecting temperature and soil-moisture readings to processing images and publishing daily updates.
What the project explores
Growing herbs
Recording plant health, seasonal changes, watering patterns, and day-to-day greenhouse observations.
Sensors and IoT
Collecting environmental and soil data from physical devices.
Software development
Building services, integrations, data pipelines, and automation tools.
Cloud and infrastructure
Learning through Azure, containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD workflows.
Observability
Using Prometheus data and visual reports to understand how the greenhouse behaves over time.
AI experimentation
Exploring computer vision and generated content while keeping the real plants and measurements at the centre of the story.
Learning in public
Herb Hub 365 is intentionally iterative. Parts of the platform may be rebuilt, replaced, or simplified as new techniques are learned. The journal and architecture notes capture that process openly rather than hiding the rough edges.
This makes the site both a growing journal and a technical portfolio—a place to practise new skills, connect software to the physical world, and create something useful and enjoyable along the way.
