The greenhouse settled into a pleasant rhythm today, with temperatures starting at a comfortable 23°C before gradually cooling as the sun set. By late afternoon, the ambient air had dropped to 19°C, while our basil and chilli pots hovered around 19°C to 20°C. The water reservoir stayed cool and stable, ensuring a steady supply for our thirsty herbs.

Light levels painted a clear picture of the day’s progression, starting in the dim morning gloom at just 71 lux and climbing steadily to a peak of over 1,300 lux in the midday sun. As evening approached, the light faded back down to a gentle 119 lux, signaling that the plants are ready to rest and recover for the night. Humidity remained moderate, fluctuating between 34% and 44%, creating a breathable atmosphere that prevents fungal issues while keeping the air from feeling too dry.

Our soil moisture sensors reported steady hydration across the board. Basil and oregano maintained healthy levels between 55% and 60%, while the chilli plant saw a gentle decline from 54% down to 44% by the end of the day. This slight drop is normal after a sunny period, and the levels remain well within the safe range, so no immediate watering is required.

Everything looks calm and content in the greenhouse tonight. The air is cooling down, the light is fading, and our herbs are settling into a peaceful evening routine. We will check back tomorrow morning to see how the chilli plant responds to the day’s sun and whether it needs a little extra attention.
