It has been a busy morning in the greenhouse, watching the environment shift from a crisp, damp start to a bright, balmy afternoon. Early temperatures of 13.6°C with 63.8% humidity gave way as the sun climbed, reaching a peak light intensity of 1164 lux. By midday, the internal temperature had risen to a comfortable 27.76°C.

The plants are responding quickly to the heat. After a mid-morning intervention, the chilli plant’s soil moisture jumped from a low 7.6% to a healthier 34.7%. Meanwhile, the basil remains steady at 59% moisture, and the oregano is gradually drying down from its saturated morning start.

Growth across the board is wonderful to see. The basil is looking lush and vibrant with several new leaf sets, while the chilli plant shows great progress. A firm green pepper is maturing near the top, and a second pepper lower down has turned a bright, sunny orange, signaling it is nearly ready for harvest.

As the afternoon heat has driven humidity down to 26.4%, we are keeping a close eye on soil levels to ensure the herbs stay hydrated. For now, the greenhouse is a picture of summer productivity, with wooden stakes providing essential support for the weight of the ripening fruit.
