June 30: Afternoon Greenhouse Update

It has been a bright, productive day at Herb Hub 365. As the sun climbed this morning, the greenhouse transitioned from a cool, damp start to a much warmer afternoon. Air temperatures rose from 20.17°C at dawn to a midday peak of 26.67°C, while humidity dropped steadily from 52.2% to 35.9% by our latest reading.
Light levels tracked the clearing skies perfectly. Starting at a dim 0.8 lux, intensity surged to 477.5 lux by early afternoon, averaging 215.55 lux throughout the period. This increase in solar energy has kept our sensors busy and the herbs active as they soak up the afternoon rays.
Soil moisture levels are shifting as the plants react to the heat. While the basil remains fully saturated at 100%, the oregano and chilli have both begun drawing more water to keep pace with the warming environment. Oregano moisture dipped from a morning high of 60.41% to 54.48%, and the chilli moved from 78.51% to 76.04%, though both remain well-hydrated.
Interestingly, the plants are staying slightly cooler than the ambient air. Basil and oregano temperatures reached nearly 24°C, while the chilli remained the coolest of the group, peaking at 22.88°C. The water reservoir saw the most significant climb, hitting 26.81°C by the end of the session. We will continue to track these trends as the day winds down.
