Midday Warmth at Herb Hub 365

It was a brilliant morning in the greenhouse this June 23rd, with light levels peaking at 6,726.7 lux around midday. This surge of sunlight brought a steady climb in temperature, rising from a mild 23.01°C to a peak of 30.8°C. By 12:30 UTC, the air settled into a comfortable 27.83°C.
As the heat intensified, humidity naturally thinned from an initial 45.1% down to 30% during the brightest hours. Atmospheric pressure followed a gentle downward trend, moving from 1018 hPa to 1014 hPa, reflecting the shifting conditions just outside our glass walls.
Our herbs are showing varied responses to the afternoon sun. The Basil remains fully saturated at 100% soil moisture, while the Chilli has stayed consistent near 79%. The Oregano proved to be the thirstiest today, with soil moisture levels dipping from a morning high of 61.33% to 55.64% by the afternoon.
Despite the spike in ambient air temperature, the plants themselves have stayed quite cool, maintaining internal temperatures between 21°C and 23°C. Interestingly, the system’s water absorbed more environmental heat than the soil, rising from 22.69°C to 27.19°C by the end of our tracking period.
