It has been a bright and active morning here at Herb Hub 365. As the sun climbed, we saw a significant increase in light levels, peaking at 8,211.7 lux just before midday. This surge in sunshine brought a corresponding rise in temperature, with the greenhouse air reaching a high of 31.06°C. The humidity has responded to the heat by dropping from a morning high of 51.7% down to a much drier 26.8%.

Our plants are handling the midday heat well, with their individual leaf temperatures remaining much cooler than the surrounding air. The basil, chilli, and oregano are all hovering comfortably between 20°C and 22°C. The water temperature in our system has climbed slightly more than the plants, reaching 25.38°C by early afternoon, reflecting the overall warmth of the environment.

Soil moisture levels show that our herbs are staying hydrated, though we are seeing the expected afternoon evaporation. The basil remains fully saturated at 100% moisture. Meanwhile, the chilli and oregano have dipped slightly from their morning peaks, currently sitting at 78.57% and 78.32% respectively. We will continue to monitor these levels as the afternoon progresses to ensure everyone stays quenched.

Overall, the greenhouse is holding steady under the summer sun. With stable atmospheric pressure around 1024 hPa and plenty of light, it is a productive day for growth. We’ll be back with more updates as the evening cooling begins.
