Sunny Saturday in the Greenhouse

It was a bright, active morning here at Herb Hub 365 on June 20th. The greenhouse transitioned quickly from a cool, humid start at 22.85°C and 59.6% humidity into a much warmer afternoon. As light intensity peaked at 9214.2 lux around midday, the environment shifted significantly, reaching a high of 33.94°C by 11:30 AM.
With the rising heat, humidity dipped to 26.6% while barometric pressure climbed steadily from 1011 hPa to 1015 hPa. Our water reservoir also felt the sun’s influence, warming from a morning low of 23.25°C to 30.13°C by early afternoon. We are keeping a close eye on these shifting vitals as the summer sun works its magic.
The herbs are managing the heat in their own ways. The basil remains fully saturated at 100% soil moisture, and the chilli plants received a late-morning boost to 91.89%. The oregano, however, is feeling the sun’s intensity more acutely; its soil moisture dropped from a morning high of 66.13% down to 54.02% by mid-afternoon.
Despite the high ambient heat, the plants themselves are staying remarkably cool. The basil and oregano are holding steady in the mid-24°C range, with the chillies sitting right at 24°C. We will continue to monitor the oregano’s moisture levels as the day progresses to ensure the entire collection stays balanced during this summer surge.
