Herb Hub 365 Afternoon Update: A Dry and Bright Day

The afternoon sun shifted the greenhouse conditions noticeably. By late afternoon, the ambient temperature had climbed to a comfortable 24.14°C, warming the basil plants to nearly 23°C. However, the air grew quite dry, with humidity levels dropping significantly from the morning start of 42.6% down to 32.7% by day’s end.
Light levels remained active throughout the day, peaking well above 1000 lux before settling into the lower 200s as evening approached. This increase in light and heat naturally drove atmospheric pressure down from a high of 1015 hPa in the morning to 1007 hPa by the end of the monitoring period.
Soil moisture is holding steady but shows a clear downward trend for the basil and chilli plants. The basil soil started the day at 54.86% moisture and has since settled to 46.98%, while the chilli soil has dipped from 41.97% to 37.92%. The oregano remains comfortably hydrated, hovering around 52% moisture.
While the water reservoir volume is currently unrecorded, the temperature has been stable at around 19°C, slightly cooler than the air. With the humidity low and soil levels dropping, keep an eye on the basil and chilli pots tomorrow to ensure they receive enough water to handle the drier conditions.
