A Calm Morning in the Greenhouse: March 31st Updates

The morning at Herb Hub 365 began with gentle coolness, settling into an environment perfectly balanced for our growing herbs. As dawn gave way to mid-morning, we watched the greenhouse temperature rise steadily before evening out again by the final reading of the cycle. The air remained comfortably dry and stable, hovering around 45% humidity as natural light climbed across the glass roof.
Our three main companions—basil, chilli, and oregano—all maintained their preferred thermal zones throughout the monitoring window. While the basil plant showed a slight dip in temperature by the end of the session compared to where it started, our chilli plants held steady near 19°C before cooling slightly as well. The water reservoir remained consistent at roughly 18.5°C, ensuring that roots were never stressed by sudden thermal shifts during this quiet period.
Soil moisture levels provided a clear picture of how each plant is utilizing its resources today. The basil and oregano are sitting comfortably in the upper fifties for soil wetness percentage, indicating they have plenty to drink without needing immediate intervention. However, our chilli plants show a different story with readings hovering just above 35%, which suggests they might be on the drier side compared to their neighbors but still within safe operating limits for this stage of growth.
Light levels painted a vivid picture of morning activity inside the space, starting at near darkness and building up to nearly seven hundred lux by mid-morning. This gradual increase in illumination is exactly what our herbs crave as they stretch toward the sun. With pressure readings remaining steady around 1024 hPa, there are no signs of stormy weather approaching; instead, we enjoyed a peaceful morning where data tells us everything is thriving naturally without urgent attention required.
