Greenhouse Update: A Sunny March Evening for the Herbs

The afternoon sun brought a noticeable warmth to our Herb Hub greenhouse as we wrapped up observations yesterday evening. Ambient temperatures climbed steadily, peaking at nearly 22°C before settling back down toward sunset. The basil plants warmed in step with their surroundings, reaching an average of just under 19.6°C by late afternoon.
Light levels were particularly striking today, hitting over 1085 lux during peak daylight hours compared to the dim morning start. This surge in illumination coincided with a gradual drop in humidity from around 41% down to roughly 39%, creating those crisp conditions herb lovers often prefer for growth spurts.
Soil moisture levels told an interesting story of daily usage and recovery. While basil remained comfortably hydrated near the high seventies, both chilli and oregano rebounded significantly after their morning dip; by evening, they had returned to healthy levels above 65%. The water reservoir held steady at roughly 17.5°C throughout the cycle with no signs of depletion or overflow issues detected during our monitoring window.
