Greenhouse Update: A Sunny Afternoon on March 29th

The midday sun climbed over the Herb Hub greenhouse, shifting our environment noticeably before late afternoon light levels peaked at an impressive 852 lux. Inside, temperatures rose steadily from a comfortable start of nearly 19 degrees Celsius to reach their highest point of just over 21 degrees by noon.
Humidity dropped significantly throughout the day as the heat intensified, falling from around 40 percent in the early morning to its lowest reading of roughly 36 percent. This is a typical response for our plants under direct light and warm air conditions, while atmospheric pressure eased slightly alongside the rising sun.
Our soil moisture readings tell an interesting story between our different herbs this afternoon. While basil remained comfortably hydrated with levels hovering near 78 percent, oregano sat at a steady mid-point around 42 percent. However, chilli plants showed signs of drying out more quickly than their neighbors, dropping from over 34 percent down to roughly 32 percent by the end of our observation window.
The water reservoir held its level throughout this period, keeping the overall system stable despite fluctuating conditions outside and inside the glass walls. As we wrap up today’s update, everything appears well-balanced for tomorrow morning, with enough moisture retained in all pots to sustain growth through another cycle.
