Activity in the greenhouse has climbed steadily throughout the day on August 27th. As morning transitioned into afternoon, the ambient temperature rose from a cool 19.31°C to a comfortable peak of 23.27°C. This warming trend coincided with a significant surge in light levels, jumping from a dim 25.8 lux to a bright 973.3 lux by midday, providing our herbs with plenty of energy for growth.

Visually, the basil remains the star of the show—lush, bushy, and a vibrant green. Tucked behind the foliage, the chilli plant is beginning to show off its hard work with several bright orange peppers hanging prominently. These pops of color against the green leaves are a clear sign that the fruit is ripening well under the current conditions.

While the plants look vigorous, our sensors suggest they have been thirsty. The oregano saw the most dramatic shift, with moisture levels dropping from 22.48% to 14.02% over six hours, while the basil followed a similar drying trend to end at 41.61%. We also noted a 0% reading on the chilli sensor, which likely requires a quick check to ensure the probe is seated correctly.

Overall, the environment remains stable and productive for this stage of the growing season. Humidity has averaged a healthy 69.8%, while air pressure holds steady between 1006 and 1008 hPa. We will continue to monitor moisture levels closely as the afternoon sun does its work.
