It has been a day of significant transitions in the greenhouse. After a brisk morning low of 9.66°C on August 24th, temperatures climbed to a pleasant 23.18°C by mid-afternoon. This warming trend was paired with a steady drop in humidity, which shifted from a damp 76% to a much drier 45.9% as the sun reached its peak.

The plants are soaking up the light, which reached a maximum of 618.3 lux today. Our chilli plant is the star of the current snapshot, showcasing a bright orange pepper near the center and a younger green fruit maturing in the background. The surrounding basil remains lush and vibrant, filling the tray with deep green, healthy foliage.

While the chilli plant’s soil moisture is holding at a saturated 100%, our sensors for the basil and oregano are currently reporting 0%. Despite these readings, the herbs appear vigorous and show no signs of wilting. We are investigating whether the sensors need calibration or if the irrigation lines require a quick adjustment to ensure even water distribution across the tray.

Overall, it is a productive and energetic afternoon. With the air clear and atmospheric pressure stabilized around 1015 hPa, the herb garden is thriving as we head toward the evening. We look forward to watching that orange chilli continue to ripen tomorrow.
