It has been a warm, productive August 22nd in the greenhouse. After starting the morning at a cool 18°C, temperatures peaked at 26.7°C before settling into a comfortable 23.97°C by late afternoon. With light levels reaching 667.5 lux, the plants enjoyed plenty of energy for growth before the daylight began to fade.

Soil moisture readings show significant activity today. The basil started at 13.42% but dropped steadily to 5.82% by the afternoon, indicating it is drinking heavily in the heat. Meanwhile, the chilli sensor remains at a constant 100%, and the oregano sensor currently shows no moisture detection, highlighting the varied needs across the hub.

Visually, the greenhouse is vibrant. The basil plants are looking particularly lush, with dense, bright green foliage reaching toward the light. Nearby, the chilli plant is showing exciting development; a small, firm green pepper is visible near the top, while a ripening orange pepper adds a striking splash of color further down.

General conditions remain stable, with humidity averaging 42% and air pressure holding at 1019 hPa. As the evening approaches, we will keep a close eye on the basil’s moisture levels to ensure it stays hydrated after such a busy day of growth.
