As August 11th progressed, the Herb Hub 365 greenhouse warmed considerably. After a cool morning low of 20.8°C, the ambient temperature climbed to a peak of 28.2°C by early afternoon. This rise was accompanied by a surge in light levels reaching 893.3 lux, while humidity naturally tapered from 47.2% to a drier 31.5%.

The plants look vibrant and full of life under the midday sun. Our basil displays lush, firm green leaves, while the nearby chilli plant is a standout, sporting a ripening orange pepper alongside a smaller green one. A bamboo stake provides necessary support for the chilli’s developing stems, and the oregano maintains its characteristic low, dense growth in the background.

Soil moisture readings showed some notable fluctuations during the heat of the day. While the basil remained consistently well-hydrated at 73%, the chilli and oregano sensors recorded significant drops. The chilli moisture dipped before recovering to 47.55% by 1:00 PM, though the oregano sensor reported a sharp decline toward the end of the session.

Overall, the greenhouse remains a productive environment with steady air pressure holding near 1020 hPa. The combination of high light and climbing temperatures is clearly suiting the basil and ripening chillies. We are keeping a close eye on moisture levels to ensure the roots stay cool as we move through the rest of the week.
