It has been a productive August 9th in the greenhouse. As the day progressed, the ambient temperature climbed steadily from 19.79°C to a mid-afternoon peak of 23.04°C. This warming trend was accompanied by a noticeable drop in humidity to 38.6%, creating a drier environment under consistent light levels of approximately 490 lux.

The plants are responding beautifully to the afternoon warmth. The basil is particularly striking today, appearing lush and dense with vibrant green leaves. Nearby, the chilli plant is showing off its progress; one fruit has turned a bright orange, while a smaller green chilli is developing higher up the stem near the wooden support.

Soil moisture levels remain high for the basil and oregano, both hovering between 70% and 80% to stay well-hydrated during the temperature rise. However, the chilli plant has dipped to 35.58%. We are keeping a close eye on this to ensure the soil doesn’t dry out too much while the fruit continues to ripen.

Overall, the greenhouse remains stable with atmospheric pressure holding at 1009 hPa. While we don’t have a specific reading for the water reservoir this afternoon, the soil sensors confirm the herbs are well-saturated.
