August 7th: Warmth in the Hub

It has been a bright, balmy day at Herb Hub 365. Temperatures peaked at 29.77°C before settling comfortably under 25°C as evening approached. The air remained quite dry throughout the day, with humidity averaging around 31%, so we are keeping a close watch to ensure the environment stays comfortable for our herbs.
The basil is the undisputed star of today’s snapshot. Its vibrant, lush green leaves fill the frame, growing tall enough to require the support of wooden stakes. While the canopy looks dense and healthy overall, we noticed a slight paleness on a few of the central leaves that we will continue to monitor.
Soil moisture for the basil and oregano is holding steady in the mid-60% range after a fully saturated start to the morning. However, the chilli sensor gave us a surprise this afternoon, plummeting from 24% to 0% in just thirty minutes. We are currently investigating whether the plant hit a sudden dry patch or if the sensor simply requires a quick adjustment.
As the day concludes, light levels have dipped from a bright peak of 2559 lux down to about 338 lux. It has been a productive day of growth in the greenhouse, and we are settling in for a quiet night of monitoring to ensure the chilli and its neighbors have everything they need.
