Saturday in the greenhouse has been bright and warm. Our sensors recorded a significant climb in ambient temperature, peaking at a balmy 30.65°C. This afternoon heat was accompanied by a steady drop in humidity, which moved from a morning high of 48% to a much drier 25.1% by the day’s end.

Despite the dry air, our herbs remain perfectly hydrated. Soil moisture for the basil, chilli, and oregano held steady at 100% all day. This consistent watering allows the plants to thrive in the sun, keeping their internal temperatures between 21°C and 22°C—notably cooler than the ambient air.

The vigor of the plants is clear to see. The basil is lush and vibrant, while the chilli plant is developing well, with a firm green fruit visible on a branch supported by a wooden stake.

With light levels peaking at over 20,800 lux and barometric pressure holding at 1015 hPa, it has been a stable and productive day for growth. We will continue to monitor the environment as the greenhouse begins to cool for the evening.
