It has been a bright and productive July 28th in the greenhouse. Ambient temperatures climbed from a morning low of 23.87°C to a mid-afternoon peak of 30.15°C, accompanied by strong light levels reaching 12,265 lux. This provided plenty of energy for the herbs to soak up before settling into the softer glow of the evening.

The plants are responding beautifully to the warmth. Our basil shows wonderful vigor with vibrant, broad leaves reaching upward, while the neighboring chilli plant is making excellent progress. A small, firm green pepper is now clearly visible hanging from one of its branches. Although the chilli leaves appear slightly lighter in color than the lush basil, the plant remains sturdy and well-supported by its wooden stake.

Sensors indicate that soil moisture for the basil, chilli, and oregano remained perfectly steady at 100% throughout the day. This consistent hydration helped the herbs manage the afternoon heat even as humidity dipped from a morning high of 54% to a drier 30.3%. Internal plant temperatures stayed comfortably cool, averaging between 22°C and 23°C.
