Herb Hub 365: Afternoon Growth Update

It has been a productive day in the greenhouse, with light levels peaking at 5,801 lux this afternoon. Temperatures climbed steadily from a morning low of 18.95°C to a warm maximum of 25.81°C. As the day progressed, humidity shifted from a damp 57.1% to a drier 46.9%, creating a comfortable environment for the plants to thrive.
The herbs are currently enjoying consistent hydration, with soil moisture for the basil, chilli, and oregano holding steady at 100%. While specific water reservoir data is unavailable this afternoon, the full saturation in the pots indicates the irrigation system is effectively managing the summer heat and keeping the roots well-fed.
The basil is a standout for its vigor, showing lush, vibrant green leaves and dense, upright growth. Nearby, the chilli plant is making excellent progress against its wooden stake. A small, firm green chilli is now clearly visible on the upper branches, a promising sign of the plant’s maturity and health as it soaks up the afternoon light.
As we move into the evening, conditions remain stable with individual plant temperatures hovering between 21°C and 22°C. These ideal ranges ensure the herbs stay healthy and resilient. We will continue to monitor the sensors to maintain this momentum through the night.
