It has been a warm, productive July 15th in the greenhouse. Temperatures rose steadily from a morning low of 18.67°C to a peak of 27.13°C by midday. This surge in warmth was matched by a significant increase in light, which reached 12,195 lux before afternoon cloud cover softened the glare to a gentler 1,055 lux.

As the heat climbed, humidity thinned from 65.1% to a drier 39.7%. Despite the shift, our herbs remain well-hydrated. The basil soil is fully saturated at 100% moisture, while the chilli and oregano are holding steady in the mid-80s and low-90s. They are drinking through the heat of the day with only a very slight decline in soil moisture levels.

The latest snapshot shows wonderful growth across the planter. The basil on the left is particularly lush and vibrant, while the central chilli plant is showing off a single, healthy green pepper. We have a wooden stake in place to support the main stalk as it develops; although its leaves are slightly paler than the basil, the plant’s overall vigor remains excellent.

In the background, the oregano is filling in nicely, creating a dense carpet of small leaves. We will continue to monitor moisture levels as the afternoon progresses to ensure the herbs stay comfortable and thriving in this summer warmth.
