July 13, 2026: Afternoon Update

It has been a bright, warm day at Herb Hub 365. As the sun moved overhead, greenhouse temperatures climbed from a cool 19.4°C in the early morning to a peak of 31.1°C. This heat brought intense light levels reaching 11,723 lux, while humidity gradually dipped from a morning high of 53.5% to a drier 40.8% by early evening.
The greenhouse is looking remarkably productive. Our basil is particularly lush, showing off the dense, vibrant green foliage that signals strong growth. In the center, the staked chilli plant continues to develop its pale-green leaves, and we are excited to see a single, healthy green pepper hanging prominently—a significant milestone for this plant’s development.
Soil moisture readings remain stable for most of our herbs despite the rising temperatures. The basil has held at a constant 100% moisture level throughout the day, showing no signs of thirst. Similarly, the chilli plant has maintained steady hydration between 84% and 88%, providing the consistent environment it needs to focus on fruit production.
However, we are keeping a close eye on the oregano. While it still appears green in the latest images, sensor data shows a dramatic moisture drop from 89% this morning to 0% by late afternoon. This sharp decline suggests the plant is struggling with the afternoon heat and will require immediate watering to help the soil recover.
