As the July sun climbed today, our greenhouse climate shifted significantly. Temperatures rose from a cool 21°C in the early morning to a peak of 28.3°C by mid-afternoon. This warmth brought a noticeable drop in humidity, which fell from a damp 60.1% to a much drier 33% by the end of our tracking period.

The star of today’s snapshot is the chilli plant, where a single, bright green fruit is maturing nicely near the center of the frame. While some of the larger leaves appear slightly pale under the 361.7 lux of afternoon light, the plant remains sturdy and well-supported by its wooden stake.

To the left, the basil continues to thrive with exceptionally lush, vibrant foliage. Our sensors show its soil moisture remains at a constant 100%, while the oregano and chilli are maintaining healthy levels between 83% and 85%. These consistent moisture readings ensure the roots stay resilient despite the afternoon heat.

With light levels reaching their peak, the greenhouse is buzzing with energy. We will continue to monitor the humidity as the evening cools, ensuring our herbs stay comfortable and hydrated during this warm summer spell.
