Afternoon Sunshine and Steady Growth at Herb Hub 365

It has been a warm and bright Sunday here at the greenhouse. As the morning progressed into the afternoon on July 12, we saw a steady climb in temperature, reaching a peak of 27.37°C by mid-day. This rise in heat was accompanied by a significant drop in humidity, which started at a moist 60.1% and settled at a much drier 31.3% as the light levels tripled to 322.5 lux.
The plants are responding well to these shifting conditions, supported by very consistent soil moisture levels. Our basil remains fully saturated at 100% moisture, while the chilli and oregano are holding steady in the mid-80s. These stable conditions are clearly visible in the health of the herbs, which look vibrant and well-hydrated despite the afternoon warmth.
Looking at the latest snapshot, the basil on the left is exceptionally lush, showing off dense, bright green foliage. In the center, the chilli plant continues to climb its wooden support stake. Most excitingly, a single, firm green chilli is now clearly visible hanging from the upper branches, a great sign of the plant’s progress.
To the right, the oregano is filling out its space with smaller, healthy green leaves. While the chilli leaves appear a slightly lighter, more yellowish-green compared to the deep emerald of the basil, the overall vigour of the greenhouse remains high. We will continue to monitor the environment as the day cools down to ensure these moisture levels stay right where they need to be.
