Afternoon Update: A Warm and Bright Monday at Herb Hub 365

It has been a productive morning and early afternoon here at the greenhouse. We started the day with a cool, damp atmosphere as temperatures sat at 16.25°C with humidity at 55.3%. As the sun climbed, the environment shifted beautifully, reaching a peak temperature of 27.3°C by midday. This warmth was accompanied by a significant increase in light, which surged from an early 288.3 lux to a bright peak of 4036.7 lux, giving our herbs plenty of energy to work with.
Our plants are responding well to the changing conditions. The basil has remained consistently saturated, maintaining a soil moisture level of 100% throughout the day. The chilli plants are also holding steady, with moisture levels hovering between 82% and 84%. We did notice the oregano drying out a bit more than the others; it started the morning at 87.48% moisture but dipped to 78.06% by the early afternoon as the greenhouse warmed up.
Individual plant temperatures have climbed steadily alongside the ambient air. Early on, the basil, chilli, and oregano were resting at approximately 14°C, but by 1:00 PM UTC, they had all warmed up to between 20°C and 22°C. The water reservoir temperature followed a similar path, ensuring that any hydration delivered to the roots was at a comfortable, temperate level.
Overall, it is a stable and thriving day for the collection. The atmospheric pressure has remained very consistent, drifting only slightly from 1014 hPa down to 1011 hPa. We will continue to monitor the oregano’s moisture levels as the afternoon progresses, but for now, the Hub is soaking up the sun and enjoying the warmth.
