Sunday Afternoon in the Greenhouse
Sunday at Herb Hub 365 brought a steady climb in warmth and light. After starting at a cool 20.28°C this morning, the greenhouse reached a midday peak of 26.04°C. This warming trend coincided with a bright surge in light levels, hitting a high of 1,188.3 lux around 11:30 AM and providing the herbs with a healthy dose of energy.
As the sun intensified, humidity saw a corresponding dip, falling from a morning high of 42.1% to 29.4% by early afternoon. Despite these shifts, air pressure remained remarkably stable, hovering around 1017 hPa. This steady environment allows the plants to thrive even as the air dries out under the midday sun.
Soil moisture levels reflect the day’s activity as the plants stay hydrated. The oregano remains the most saturated at 50.06%, followed by the basil at 45.49%. The chilli plant is currently the thirstiest of the group, with its soil moisture settling at 40.54%.
While air temperatures rose, the water supply stayed consistently cool, averaging 20.25°C throughout the day. This ensures that any irrigation remains refreshing for the roots, preventing heat stress. We will continue to monitor these trends into the evening to keep our herbs comfortable and balanced.
