The sun shone brightly in the Herb Hub 365 greenhouse today, driving light levels from a quiet 85 lux in the morning to over 1,000 lux by mid-afternoon. As the day progressed, temperatures rose steadily from a comfortable 19°C to a pleasant 24°C before settling slightly as the sun began to set.

Inside the growing beds, basil and oregano are feeling the effects of a noticeable dry spell. Soil moisture levels dipped from around 40% to roughly 37-38% over the course of the day. While this decline is gradual, the plants are losing moisture faster than usual due to the intense light and rising heat.

The air inside has become quite dry, with humidity dropping significantly from nearly 45% in the morning to just 32% by evening. This combination of low humidity and warm air has created a slightly stressful environment for the basil and oregano, which typically prefer more atmospheric moisture. The chilli plant, however, remains well-hydrated and seems to be handling these conditions best.

As evening approaches, light levels are fading and the air is cooling, but the dry conditions remain the primary focus for tomorrow’s care. Keep an eye on the basil and oregano, as they may need a little extra attention or misting to recover from today’s dry heat. The chilli plant continues to thrive without issue.
