Herb Hub 365: A Sunny and Dry Afternoon Update for March 26th
The afternoon sun brought a noticeable shift to the greenhouse environment today, pushing light levels up from roughly 117 lux at morning start to a bright 315 lux by midday. As expected with such strong illumination, the ambient temperature climbed steadily before settling back down toward evening values around 18.6°C.
Inside the growing zones, individual plant temperatures tracked closely with these environmental changes. The basil and chilli pots warmed up quickly in the early hours but cooled off significantly as the day progressed, ending the monitoring period slightly cooler than they started at approximately 17°C each. Oregano followed a similar pattern, mirroring the general cooling trend of the afternoon light cycle.
Soil moisture levels remained stable across all monitored plants throughout this window. The basil stayed comfortably hydrated near 90%, while both chilli and oregano hovered just above the halfway mark around 50%. No critical dryness warnings were triggered during these snapshots, suggesting a well-balanced watering schedule from earlier in the day kept things steady for our green friends.
