Morning Progress: August 18, 2026

It was a productive morning in the greenhouse as light levels climbed steadily from a soft 597 lux to 2660 lux by 8:30 AM UTC. Conditions remained stable with an average temperature of 22.3°C and humidity levels between 59% and 66%, providing a gentle environment for the start of the growth cycle.
The basil is looking exceptionally lush, with deep green leaves filling the frame with vigor. The chilli plant is also showing exciting progress; a small green pepper is maturing near the top while a bright orange chilli ripens further down. Although the chilli leaves are a lighter, more yellowish-green than the basil, the fruit development is a great sign of the plant’s current health.
Sensor data shows the herbs are beginning to drink as the light increases. Soil moisture for the basil and oregano dipped slightly to 58.5% and 69.9% respectively, while the chilli soil remains fully saturated. All plants are maintaining steady internal temperatures around 21°C, which is ideal for this stage of development.
With atmospheric pressure holding at 1005 hPa and plenty of morning light, the herbs are off to a fantastic start. We are particularly pleased with the color transition on the chillies and the overall density of the basil crop. Stay tuned to Herb Hub 365 for more updates as the week continues.
