The greenhouse warmed significantly today, reaching a peak of 31.28°C by early afternoon. As the sun moved overhead, light levels surged to over 4,700 lux, creating a bright and energetic environment for the herbs. This heat was accompanied by a sharp drop in humidity, which fell from a morning high of 53.7% to a much drier 28.7% by midday.

Our latest snapshot shows the basil thriving with broad, glossy, vibrant green leaves filling the frame. In the center, the chilli plant is making excellent progress; one prominent pepper has ripened to a warm orange, while a smaller green pepper develops higher up the stem, supported by its wooden stake.

While the plants look healthy, our sensors have flagged a concern for the chilli’s hydration. While the basil and oregano remain well-watered with moisture levels between 73% and 79%, the chilli soil has hit a critical low of 0%. The pot is drying out rapidly under the intense afternoon sun and requires immediate attention.
