Greenhouse Afternoon Update
The afternoon brought a noticeable peak in the greenhouse environment. Temperatures climbed to a high of 23.83°C, and light readings peaked at 1355.8 lux as the midday sun shone brightly on the herbs. Humidity dipped to its lowest point at 32.4% during this intense period.
The individual plant environments mirrored this strong daylight. Basil’s temperature peaked at 20.13°C, while oregano reached its highest recorded temperature of 19.5°C. The water reservoir temperature also peaked at 18.31°C.
Soil moisture levels remained relatively stable throughout the afternoon cycle. Basil maintained a good moisture level, finishing the period at 61.59%. Chilli and oregano also held steady, showing good hydration as the day progressed.
Overall, the plants handled the peak light and temperature very well. As we move into the evening, we are observing a gradual cooling trend in the ambient temperature, which is ideal for the herbs as the sun begins to set.
