A Bright Saturday in the Greenhouse
The morning of May 9th brought a steady surge of energy to the greenhouse. Light levels climbed from a dim 243.3 lux at dawn to a vibrant peak of 1306.7 lux, signaling a productive growth phase for our herbs. Throughout this transition, the atmospheric pressure remained remarkably steady, hovering between 1015 and 1016 hPa.
As the sun rose, the ambient temperature followed suit, warming from a mild 22.28°C to a peak of 27.53°C. This warmth naturally dried the air, with humidity levels dipping from a morning high of 40.3% to a crisp 32.9%. Despite the rising heat in the room, our water supply stayed consistently cool, averaging 21.55°C.
Our plants are handling the shift with grace. The basil, chilli, and oregano have all maintained stable internal temperatures between 21°C and 24°C. Soil moisture levels show natural consumption as the day progresses; while the oregano settled at a comfortable 62.97% moisture, the chilli remains the driest of the group at 47.11%. We will continue to monitor the chilli closely to ensure it stays hydrated in the drier afternoon air.
