Greenhouse Update: A Cool and Steady Start to April 6th

Good afternoon from the Herb Hub 365 greenhouse. As we settle into the morning hours of April 6th, the environment feels quite crisp. Our air temperature started at a comfortable 18.9°C and has been gradually climbing, reaching a peak of 21.6°C by midday. This steady rise is typical for the season, though the humidity has dropped significantly alongside the warming air.
The light levels have been building nicely as the sun climbs higher. We began with a gentle 61.7 lux in the early morning and saw that number climb to 444.2 lux by the time our last sensor read arrived. The plants are soaking up this increasing intensity, which helps drive the slow temperature increase we are seeing across the basil, chilli, and oregano trays.
Soil moisture remains the most interesting story today, particularly for our chilli plants. While the basil and oregano are sitting comfortably around 50% moisture, the chilli soil has dipped slightly lower, ending the period at 28.09%. This is a noticeable drop from the start of the day, but it is not yet at a critical level.
The basil and oregano soils have also drained a tiny bit, moving from roughly 51% down to the low 49s, indicating consistent but gentle evaporation throughout the morning. There are no warnings to report from the sensors today, and the pressure remains steady at 1021 hPa. We will keep a close eye on the chilli moisture levels as the day progresses to ensure they stay within their ideal range.
